We all are very much in sync with the fact that we are facing the toughest time of our lives so far. There’s a pandemic which has brought the entire world to a standstill. While all of us are eagerly waiting for things to turn better, most of us are also worried about the repercussions that will follow. Once all of this gets over, normal life will take some time to resume. Human behavior for that matter will be changed permanently. There will be social awkwardness when people will meet. No hugs or handshakes will make breaking the ice even more difficult. We will judge people on the basis of how strictly they’re following the norms of social distancing. Accidental touches will lead to raised eyebrows and with time, All of this will become the new normal.
Why mentioning it is important because right now what is containing our sanity are things which are keeping us occupied. Employees who are working from home are able to cope up better with the existing conditions when compared to people who are unfortunately, not working at all. My employer for that matter, Sapient Bangalore has been very thoughtful in terms of trying to keep things as normal as possible. With the advances in technology, virtual sessions are being organized by Sapient which are really helping in managing work and life balance quite effectively. Recently, we had a couple of sessions on maintaining financial wealth during these challenging times and believe me, the sessions were so insightful and helpful. Like I was really worried about my money and what happens to it under the current circumstances since there were no proper updates about the markets, but, the expert talks in the sessions really handled the queries well of hundreds of people like me who were worried about our finances. Sapient Bangalore has really thought about covering various aspects of its employee’s lives and tried to provide relevant counselling to manage things more effectively for which I’m grateful.
Another such virtual session which is really making a difference for me during this lock-down are the virtual yoga sessions. After I started working from home, my sleeping pattern was disturbed as there was no proper time management. But after attending a couple of Virtual Yoga Sessions organized by my organization, Sapient Bangalore, I was able to get up early, practice yoga and it helped me in keeping my mind at peace so I manage things and time much better now. Overall, due to these efforts made by Sapient, I’m inclined towards looking for positives amidst these negative and depressing times.
