Covid-19 has terribly hit us all in various ways. We are now entering the fifth month of watching everything come to a standstill. It has definitely had an impact on us and everyone is just waiting for all of it to get over and normalcy to resume. This pandemic has also made the humans realize to look at life in a different way. The past months have gone by where no body went out and spent money on leisure and yet had a good time. We learnt to stay happy with basic necessities. Most of us acquired a skill and are pretty happy about it. Many new habits were developed which includes getting up early and upgrading your skillset. My organization Sapient Bangalore has proved to be extremely beneficial in terms of pushing its employees to acquire knowledge about things they didn’t know earlier. Many training sessions and workshops are being organized on a regular basis to continue the learning process and to utilize this time in the most positive and efficient manner.

Not only is this a great initiative by Sapient but the thought behind it says a lot. The leadership and the management have decided to not let this tough time have an effect on themselves and the workforce which is why they are focusing on other things rather than doing nothing and panicking due to this pandemic. This normal behavior by the top level restores faith and trust in the employees and prevents the output from collapsing or suffering. I might get frustrated sitting all day at home but if you ask me about work, I’d say I’m more than 90% occupied and it helps in maintaining my sanity. So I’m sorted workwise.

The organization has not only taken care of us workwise, but also thought about keeping us involved with various other things during our off time so that our minds remain occupied and negative thoughts don’t cross by. For that, they have various entertainment sessions for us. We have the singing sessions, stand-up comedy sessions, quiz sessions, yoga, wealth management etc and various other programs carried out virtually since the lockdown started. They are really big stress busters and they actually help in keeping the negativity at bay.

I only pray that other organizations too are having similar programmes for their employees and none of us should go through negativity or stressful times. I wish good health for everyone and no kind of stress be it emotional or financial to be faced by anybody. Please stay calm and remember all the good times of your lives, it will give you the strength to fight further and come out stronger than before.
